                                                                                    Chair 2016-2017

For over 100 years Kiwanis International has been supporting and developing leaders as well as generating sustainable change that improves individual lives, their families and communities across the globe. Kiwanis Clubs perform over 150,000 service projects per year, build better lives and communities - whatever the cause, Kiwanians of all ages and abilities devote 6 million hours per year to service.

I joined the Key Club (a Kiwanis International Service Leadership Programme for secondary school students) in 1997 to meet new friends and make a difference in my community. I am honoured and humbled to continue my service in Kiwanis as the Kiwanis Nation UK (KNUK) Chair 2016/17.

Volunteering isn’t just a great way to help others – as a volunteer you learn new skills, increase your network and also gain confidence, a sense of pride and identity, a sense of accomplishment.

Kiwanians, I encourage you to recall the reasons why you decided to join Kiwanis - Energise the dream... that every child is happy, healthy, safe and loved! Show your communities what you are doing to help children because Kids Need Kiwanis just like me when I was a child. No matter how overwhelming life's challenges seem to be, remember that one person can make a difference in the world. In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about - so be that one person. Thank you for your contributions to the Kiwanis International - United Kingdom (KNUK).

I am honoured to serve Kiwanis. Thank you this opportunity to make a difference and thank you for supporting the KNUK motto for 2016/17 is

      "Together – Children @ Heart"
